My Talented Daughter

I think I finally managed to learn to crochet when I was about 35.  At 10 My daughter is already making darling amigurumi animals, and she isn't asking me to explain instructions, other than some odd stitch now and then that I'd have to look up anyway.

She did this little guy while she was on Summer vacation, because just like her mom she gets bored out of her mind when she has nothing creative to do.  We have a great pattern for a giraffe (you know how much I love them!) so that's up next.  She also made a really cute parrot for my sister in law, who writes these fabulous pirate stories.

I think she is crocheting amazingly well (especially since she is only 10), and the little creatures she is making are really cute.

Tigger Tiger Burning Bright!

Pardon the blurry picture.  My camera must have had some sort of schmutz on the lens or something.  That happens a lot with my phone camera  It looks like that camera lens they use to blur out a fading actress so you can't see the wrinkles.  Hmm. . .  what does that say about me?

Anyway,  here is my creation from my monthly art class.  This one is my favorite medium, watercolor and a bit of colored pencil.  The one needs to be framed.  I love tigers.  It's tough to get those stripes to follow the muscle line of his body.  His big yawn makes me sleepy. . .
