French Flower Market- Work in Progress

This painting isn't done yet, hence the "work in progress" title.  I have some more flowers to finish in the market, and a few other touches, but I haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I would show you one piece that I am extremely proud of, even though it's not quite done.

This was a study in how the light falls on the cobblestones and plays on the windows of the  cafe and the cheese shop.  I also learned ow easy it is to make little streaks and lines and swirls of paint look like real flowers.  Some times it's all about the illusion, fooling the eye into  making the brain think that's what there, even if it isn't what is really there.  And that's when it is really fun!

I'll post another picture of it when I get around to finishing it.  This one is acrylics on canvas.  Next class is watercolors.  Woot woot!

Beautiful Tiffany- I love the flowers and the shading in them- and the cobblestones look great! I wish there were classes like this near me!
