My Favorite Painting Yet. . .

I've been messing around with my blog design for the last hour and I've decided to give it a break.  It's really annoying me, but I guess it's "good enough."  I have "perfectionist" issues that sometimes make me crazy, so I'll give up on it and type my entry instead.

Last weekend was art class and we did a river rock scene. The technique we were learning was to make the rocks look round and add shadowing, and make it look as if there was water flowing through the picture.I like the Fall leaf floating merrily along.

It's funny, because Randi said, "Remember when you were learning to draw and you had to do the shading on the sphere?"  Well, yes!  I do!  I just did that fairly recently.  A light bulb seemed to go off in my head and this one just came together. 

Most of the time I have Randi fix my errors and help me with things I have trouble with.  This time it was all me.  God Lord, am I actually learning to paint?  Could it be true?  

This is a small piece, maybe 9 x 12, on canvas and in acrylics.  I smile when I look at at.  And I said I like watercolors better.  Hmmmm. . . I may need to rethink that one.  :)

Bear with Me. . .

I know it's been a little while since I've posted.  I started a new job (same company) and  it's kept me rocking and rolling. 

Tonight I logged on to my blog to find that my background providers had a bandwith issue and my lovely theme was now this nasty little photobucket error message.  Argh.  So I just spent the last hour putting up a new background and my header is messeed up (missing, really) and I'm totally annoyed.

I don't even feel like showing you the best painting I've done to date.  Mainly because I haven't taken a photo of it yet, but it's something I'm REALLY proud of.

So this weekend I'll take a few minutes to fix the mess and do some posting.  Sorry for the mess and the long absence.  I really love my blog but sometimes life just gets in the way. . .
